Financial Aid

A limited number of scholarships are available for students who qualify. These include the following:
Minister’s Children Fund
This is available to the children of ministers who have given a Minimum of fifteen years service to PAWI. They must be enrolled in the full-time program. Such students would be entitled to 40% of tuition fee in the first semester of the second year at school. This scholarship is funded by money received from the Nicholson’s Memorial Fund.
The Foreign Student Scholarship
This scholarship is available to foreign students who meet the specific qualifications and applies only to the Diploma Program. All applicants for scholarship assistance must be submitted in writing to the Administrative Committee, West Indies School of theology
Academic Scholarship
This is an academic scholarship, offering 50% tuition cost to the qualifying student on the following basis:
The student must:
§ Be a resident of WIST Campus during his/her period of studies/scholarship.
§ Be a bona fide member of a PAWI church.
§ Attend and be involved with a PAWI church while attending WIST.
§ Be committed to at least one year involvement in a local church at post-graduation.
§ Maintain a grade point average of 3.0 and above.
The scholarship is made possible through the Evening Light Pentecostal Church, Bermuda.
Mc Arthur and Elizabeth Dick Educational Trust Fund
Mr. Phillip Dick, a graduate of the West Indies School of Theology, and his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Dick present two awards:
- To the student with the most outstanding academic performance, i.e. the valedictorian of the class 2009
- An award intended to encourage the recipient, address a particular financial need, and to assist the student in the realization of the individual’s kingdom ambitions.
Bishop T. J. Nelson Memorial Scholarship
The Bishop T. J. Nelson Memorial Scholarship is awarded to any full full-time student(s) of the West Indies School of Theology (WIST), enrolled in the Diploma or Bachelor Programme, or any other such programme as the Fellowship of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the West Indies shall deem eligible, the actual value of which shall be determined by the WIST Administrative Committee.
The scholarship shall be awarded to an individual for one academic year, upon the recommendation of the Scholarship Committee, and may become renewable based on the individual’s academic performance, extra-curricula activities and such other criteria, as determined from time to time by the WIST Administrative Committee.
Applicants for the T. J. Nelson Memorial Scholarship must submit:
- an application on the official application form, not later than 31st March of the preceding year.
- two references: one being from the applicant’s pastor, and one other.
- the applicant’s curriculum vitae, and any other information that might enhance the individual’s application.
The successful applicant will be notified in writing, prior to commencement of the next academic year, by 31 August.
